It was released on March 10, 2001 through Epic Records, and it was produced by Rick Rubin. The band's use of sound effects and screaming in their songs is unlike any other band at that time, and gained the attention of many fans and critics. Toxicity also contained a cover of the Judas Priest song "Breaking the Law". Toxicity debuted at number five on the Billboard 200 chart in 2001, with first-week sales of 160,000 copies. With the album, System of a Down received critical acclaim and was regarded as one of the greatest albums of the decade. The album has since been certified platinum by the RIAA. In addition to the 2003 reissue, a box set was made available through Best Buy's online music store in 2015, featuring the album in its original format, in a replica CD case, a DVD containing additional footage and live performances, as well as a box that features the original Toxicity album and merchandise. Album Toxicity · Genres;.
